For the first time we got a small group together this time to go magnet fishing in our city and it was both a great success in finds and a ton of fun.
As you can see in the video we managed to find a total of four safes, two shopping carts and one of those grocery store trolleys that proved highly useful in transporting all that scrap metal to our truck.
But then we called the police so they could take a look at the safes and they told us that our city recently implemented a law where you have to get a permit to go magnetfishing, immediately after telling us ‘you most likely won’t get one’. Great, that’s Germany for you where people think it’s best to create a hindrance for people who clean up the waterways when the city can’t be bothered.
We will of course try to get ourselves such a permit, but if the police guys are right we just might have to go to a different state that is two hours away if we want to keep this hobby up. It’s a weird world we live in, but magnetfishing is way too much fun to just stop so we will certainly continue.
In the meantime there is plenty of work for us in crafting scrap art pieces from our finds and get rid of everything we can’t use.
